    Description
Here's a nice EICO model 625 tube tester from my collection.  It's one of the later models with the brushed aluminum face that many prefer.  It has the old 4, 5, 6 & 7-pin sockets that you need if you're restoring vintage radios.  Of course it also has the "modern" octal, loctal, 7-pin miniature and 9-pin miniature sockets too.  The test circuit of the EICO 625 was taken from the Triplett model 3413.  It is virtually identical to the Heathkit TC-2, TC-3, IT-21, IT-17 and IT-3117, and the Knight KG-600 series of testers, and test data for these instruments is generally interchangeable.  The "W" suffix on the serial number (front panel, lower right) and the "TESTED" stamp with initials (chassis photo) mark this as a factory wired unit, perhaps important if you want to be sure it was done correctly.
The EICO series of test instruments were intended for professional use, and were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships, and their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well.
To ensure accuracy of a newly built kit, Eico didn't provide any calibration adjustments for this model tester, relying instead on the inherent accuracy achieved by the use of close tolerance components in the measuring circuits.  Calibration consists of ensuring that all these components, including the meter, are within tolerance.  This has been done.  All out of tolerance components have been replaced with modern, more stable types, and this instrument is working as it should on all ranges.  It is shown in the second and third photos testing a NOS RCA 6L6GC tube.  The tube, of course, is not included in the auction.
This instrument is in exceptionally nice condition.  The chart rolls freely from end to end, and it works as if it were new.
A complete reprint of the operation manual with schematic is included with the auction.  It includes an errata giving the US equivalent tube type numbers for common European tubes.  A clean and complete data manual dated 1/1/78 is also included.  This data manual is extensive, covering 60 pages - far more data than could be included on a roll chart, and was intended to replace the roll chart on all Eico 625 tube testers.  To the best of my knowledge this is the most up-to-date information published for the EICO 625.  It also contains new tube data for use with the EICO 610 & 610A compactron adapters.  It is, of course, usable with the Heath and Knight testers also.
If you want a tube tester that's very popular, is in Very good condition, works properly and has lots of data available, you'll be pleased with this one!

    About Us
My name is John.  I'm not a professional eBay seller, just a retired electronics engineer selling off my collection of electronic equipment acquired over the last half century.  Some of the kit items I built myself back in the mid '50s.  Newer items I acquired as I needed them for my work and hobbies.  A few older items I bought on eBay just for the joy of fixing them up and seeing the vacuum tubes glow again.  Most all the items I'm selling are in good working condition.  The few that aren't will be plainly stated as such.  All items will be accurately described to the best of my ability.  These are not collector items, just good working tools that have lots of useful life left in them.  I warrant that you will receive them as shown and described in the auction.  They are otherwise sold as-is.  I look forward to your business.  Good luck with your bidding!
