Rare Antique Whitby Snake Bracelet.
This is a gorgeous, rare, antique, faceted Whitby jet spiral bracelet with a characterful carved snake head and tail. The real Whitby jet pieces are graduated and joined on elastic. The snake's head measures approx 25mm x 15mm and the largest segment is approx 24mm x 14mm, smallest is approx 13mm x 9mm. It measures approx 450mm in length it makes about 2.5 coils on my wrist but would fit any wrist or upper arm. The condition of the bracelet is good antique with only a couple of minor nicks, not anything noticeable. I think that it would date to the late Victorian era, about 1880.
