    Description

The Culter and Proctor Stove Company was established in 1867 by David Choate Proctor and Richard Culter, the grandfather of the artist of the same name, in Peoria, Illinois. In 1905 the company patented a self-feeding coal stove that used air surrounding the feeding chamber to keep coal from overheating until it was fed into the stove. By 1919 they had traveling salesmen reaching as far north as Canada, east to Michigan, and west to the Dakotas. This is a beautiful wood burning furnace. It comes with two 6" stove dampers and one 4" stove damper. The 4" damper is missing the pin that goes with it. This furnace has beautiful clear stone windows that were shaved down to glass. Another feature it has is the tile on the front and the back stating
Peoria. One side tile has a crack in it, but will not be noticeable once it is up against your wall (see pictures for details). Ready to use to heat your home/parlor.  Was being used prior to being put in strorage.  If you have an old home in Peoria, IL then this is a must!  You can pick up in Kankakee, IL during business hours.
