  • Condition: Very good vintage condition. There are a few flea bites and a few smudges to the lacquer on the inside and underside of the box. Jewelry not included.

    Description

    Available for purchase is a very well executed footed red Japanese lacquer box with detailed mother of pearl inlay.  The piece is an estate find belonging to a single owner. As mentioned, there are a few flea bites and smudges on inside and bottom of box which don't affect the beauty of the piece. Including the lid, the box measures 6-3/4" wide, 4-1/4"deep and 2" high. There is a diamond pattern mother of pearl inlay around all sides of the box and a detailed inlay of the same in a flower and vase pattern on the top of the box.  The lid of the box lifts off completely to reveal a generous area for holding your special treasures.  I have shown it with jade, coral and mother of pearl jewelry but it could hold any of your small cherished possessions.
