Vintage 1970s Expressly for Simon Made in Japan Wooden Box w/Handpainted Lid
Good condition with hand-painting unflawed in appearance, hinges and clasp are intact and in good working condition.  There are two small holes in the front of the box (see photos) and based on other photos I've seen I'm wondering if this wasn't at one time a purse and the handle was removed at some point?  Used either as a trinket box or if you have a unique handle and want to remake it into a one-of-a-kind purse it would be awesome!
Look closely at the photos - it looks like the painter added his name in one of the leaves at the bottom of the box!
