VINTAGE TRAILING DRAGON TRINKET BOX
Lovely vintage 1940s embossed silver painted or plated metal box measuring 3" wide, 2-1/4" deep and 1-1/4" in height.  Featuring wonderful decoration - top depicts a trailing dragon amid Chinese characters -- sides are finished with sections of the trailing dragon as well.  Lid is hinged and interior is unlined - guessing this started out as a cigarette box.
Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, rust, dents, discoloration or damage - as shown, quite a bit of plating has worn away, which has brought out the embossed detail more clearly.  Unmarked, but probably MADE IN JAPAN, it is just the perfect size for trinkets or small objects - a lovely piece and a nice addition to any collection!
