Description

This vintage mid-century era Crestline handpainted wood lacquer jewelry box was made in Japan circa 1950s-60s. It features many drawers and compartments, a mirror behind doors, inlaid abalone mosaics, painted glass panel, and even a music box. The paintings depict Asian landscapes. It measures 12" wide, 6-1/4" deep, 5" tall. There is a tag on the bottom but I cannot make out any text. I have read that no two boxes were alike because of the handmade detailing.
The condition is as shown in the photographs. There are some chipping pieces on the top cover lid which may chip a bit more during transit even with our own great care in packing. I can't get the music box to play - it was probably overwound. No key. Structurally sound.
